He is such a happy baby!!
Jason and I live in the small town of Richland Center, where we both grew up. Jason has two children, Alex and Paige from a previous marriage, and we are expecting a baby at the end of the June. We love our family!!

I think I may have the hardest working husband in the world right now. Not only did he go to his regular 7-5 job this week, but he also planted many acres of soybeans, AND painted and put together furniture for our nursery. I am very blessed. Check out our nursery!!! I think we are officially READY! Now! Please!

I've had the best Mother's Day weekend! It started Saturday with my baby shower, followed by Saturday night when my family decided they would be productive and start changing rooms. Sunday was even more fun when I started moving Baby No Name Perkins' clothes into his closet. We ordered a crib, changing table, and dresser too and it should be here this week. So excited!!!!

We are still without a nursery for Baby No Name Perkins, but we have this wonderful bassinet to hold all of the gifts we have been getting. Both of my 4K classes gave me a surprise baby shower. I am one lucky mommy. My family has been working hard getting ready to throw me one more shower this weekend. It is a family tradition to make "baby booties" out of nut cups, marshmallows, and frosting. Last Saturday a few of my relatives got together and we made over 70 booties. It was hard work, but we felt accomplished afterwards. I received a phone call a few days later stating that my aunt's dog decided to eat 19 of the booties. I laughed, but she was a little upset. Good thing I'm a dog lover...I guess.

8 weeks to go....I'm so not READY!!!

There has been a little bit of panic at the Perkins home. We have been so busy remodeling our basement and are exhausted from it. However, we realized....we have not even started moving the kids around and creating a baby room. The only thing we have for baby "no name" Perkins is some clothes that have been given to us as gifts. His room currently looks like a young 10 year old girls bedroom. Here is some evidence to prove why we are starting to panic. It appears that Paige is in NO hurry to move out of her lime green with pink polka dot bedroom. Baby Perkins could possibly end up in my bed.......which would be just fine with me ;)

Preparing for Baby Boy Perkins

We have been busy remodeling our whole basement, laundry room, and spare bathroom. It's enough to make me crazy...not to mention that we have to move the kids around into other bedrooms. Paige insists that she wants her room orange, which I'm still not sold on. Alex doesn't really care what his room looks like, he just doesn't want to get woken up by a crying baby. I told him to buy ear plugs. Judging from the way he sleeps, he won't hear a thing. Jason has been a trooper in handling the remodeling because I have pleaded the pregnancy rule "NO PAINTING WHILE PREGNANT...THE FUMES ARE BAD FOR THE BABY." While I'm not totally convinced this is true, I'm going with it. Here is just a taste of how everyone is preparing around here for our summer arrival. It's amazing what one little person can do to a household.
Here Comes the Fat Easter Bunny...Oh Wait, it's Liz

The weather has been amazing this week and I have decided there are no more excuses for not exercising. This is something that I have put off until this point because it's just been too cold to walk outside. While looking at these pictures, I am a little disappointed in myself for not walking a little sooner. Yikes!! I think I look like an Easter Bunny!! I have been sharing this exciting time with a co-worked who is due two weeks before me. Oddly, she looks like she could be due two weeks after me. I better slow down!!!

Baby Shower Time
It's a boy.....oh boy!

We broke down and opened the blue paper on Valentine's Day. Jason and I decided it would be an awesome Valentine's gift to each other...plus Paige was going crazy not knowing what was inside that paper. I was pretty sure it was a boy and when Paige opened the paper...it said "Blue". Paige had a look of disappointment on her face, but she has come around this week. Hopefully she will be excited by the time the baby arrives.

Paige competed at another cheerleading competition this weekend in Madison. She was so proud because they beat a team called "Wolfpack". Apparently, this was the team to beat. She said she loved the looks on their faces when they announced SWSE before Wolfpack. Now I know it's not good sportsmanship, but I understood where she was coming from. I sure love her spirit.

We've been busy planning the nursery, remodeling our downstairs to move Alex there, and picking out color's for Paige's room. It really isn't a simple task turning your three bedroom house into a four bedroom house in just a few months. I will post pictures of the remodeling when it gets further underway. Here I am at 19 weeks. I've been craving junk food this week for the first time, so I can only imagine that I will get bigger soon....

Paige has been busy competing in cheerleading competitions. Her team recently went to Minnesota and they are headed to Madison next weekend for the final one. She loves it and I love that she loves it. I try to show her some of my old jumps like the "herkey" and she looks at me like I'm crazy. Maybe I'll get brave and have someone take a picture of me doing the herkey right now at almost 20 weeks pregnant. Yup, I can still do it....still got that spirit.

It has been nearly a month since I've posted anything on here and of course I'm getting in trouble from my best friend and mom for not posting pictures. Those two ladies sure know how to harass me. Between completing grades for the semester, taking the kids to their MANY sporting events and cheerleading functions, and trying to train my family to do more housework...I have been getting BIGGER. I've enjoyed my students that say, "Mrs. Perkins, you are getting skinnier." Apparently we need to work on the difference between fat and skinny or they want better grades. I'm thinking they are just confused. However, I love them dearly. So, here you have it folks...a lovely picture of me at 17 weeks. I don't quite understand why some days I look huge and some days I look barely pregnant. I had Jason take a close up just to give Stefani a little extra dose of my belly. Hope you enjoy it because it scares the crap out of me.

I feel as if we haven't really done much over Christmas/New Year's break and then I realized, it is just me and the dog that really haven't moved. Perhaps that is just what I needed...to get a refreshing start to 2010. Paige enjoyed her new science kit and Jason enjoyed Paige's new Nintendo. Alex finally enjoyed his new snowboard. I of course enjoyed getting fatter...KIDDING!!
